As I said, Borodin, you can play it plotless.

Make a LAN server with the server making thing and then open up Freelancer, go on 'Multiplayer' and select your own server.

Et voila. No plot to ruin the fun of what is undoubtedly a great game.

I remember playing this game almost religiously back in the day on my Amiga A501. A friend and i (over a few beers) decided we should revamp it for a multiplayer audience, sadly to find that someone had already decided to do it. So it looks like i'm gonna have to jump onto Elite Tournament and check it out. Hopefully you'll be able to play a normal trading game with the pirates being other on-line users as opposed to bots as in the original. Happy Gaming and BTW when is Soul Calibur gonna be a Martial Arts fest on-line on the PS2? Coz i reckon i'll slaughter all comers...LOL Lata Gata's

That isn't my point, though, at all. You can do all of the above, essentially playing a freeform game in X2, then return to the main plot at anytime, as well armed and funded as you wish. It waits for you, as it does in Morrowind. In Freelancer, you have two choices:

Allow the plot, and deal with not advancing your equipment beyond certain points until you do important plot missions; or

Remove the plot using the method you suggest. In which case, you can advance your equipment and vehicle all you won't, but you can't return to the plot, later.

How do you dock to a space station without wasting 50 credits?

Can you land on planets?

I played it a long time ago. Not bad, but too easy. Extra missions were the best part of the game. I remember that i had to save some guy from a supernova, and destroy a spacestation(I got some archangel title for that), and i had to steal a cloaking device. I had anti-ECM system on board which i got for succesfulu finishing some mission, and a cloaking device. Does anybody know were there anyting else of special equipment? And that cloaking device didn't work good, it drained energy of my ship in 1 or 2 seconds.
