Well, as you might have noticed, I need some help with the DOSBox tutorial posted on this site. It's in section "Setting UP DOSBox". I'm at the part where you go into the configuration, and have to enter in the commands at the bottom, so that DOSBox can open in the C drive. I did everything that the tutorial said; I even copied and pasted the command from the tutorial into the notepad, so that there would be no errors. But whenever I open up DOSBox, it still goes to the "Z" drive. Does anyone know what the problem is, or how I can fix it? :help:

You could edit the config file so some commands are automatically done at the start... But getting Z: at the beginning is very far from being a problem in itself... It would be a problem if you don't get it.

Well, there's still some kind of typo in the guide. If you really followed the guide step by step, you should've "C:\DosBox\CDrive".
The guide, however, tells you to copy the following ... mount C C:\Dos\CDrive ... replace C:\Dos\CDrive with C:\DosBox\CDrive Also replace the "D:\" at the line "mount D D:\ -t cdrom" with whatever letter your CDROM drive has (if it isn't D:\) |

And don't set the cycles too high, your machine most likely can't handle it and it will slow down again. |

Well, if it is designed for Win95/98 you can always try compatibility mode.
Another option would to be to use neither DosBox nor compatibility, but to try VDMSound. It's pretty straightforward. Install it and then try to run the game by right-clicking the EXE and then choosing "Run with VDMSound. |

If VDMSound doesn't help either, try using some virtualisation software.

[autoexec] # Lines in this will be run at startup. Mount C C:\DosBox\CDrive Mount D D:\ -t cdrom C: CLS I also tried various things with the Mount D D:\ thing, like: C:\ and E:\ and neither worked. |
