[IMHO:]
Nothing. You die. Your hart stops beating, your brain dies of lack of oxygen and then the lights go out. Everything you haven't told anybody, written down, built, painted or imprinted upon your children is gone.
This is not a bad thing and encourages me to make something of my life (or at least to try this) since I only get one try and it can be over in a flash. There's no threat of hell or heaven needed to make me do the right thing in life. Off course I stray off once in a while but never in a serious way and I mostly feel pretty content with who I am.

That's what comes to mind. I've thought about this a lot ever since my dead died a couple of years ago. Which was a shame (because there was a lot of things to tell him an stuff do to) but also a very real part of life and this event changed a lot of my perspectives of life and how one should (or could) live it. Death is inevitable and irreversible.
[/IMHO]

I'm curious about other people thoughts on this matter (and your own for that matter, Jaws). And since it's in Blah... it'll probably not be closed.

I'm not afraid of my own death. I actually don't care how I will die, I will die anyways. But if I could chose, I would drown.
I don't think that death is a bad thing, although it's sad when you lose somebody you love. But for the person that dies, I believe it's not bad. Although I don't believe in any second life or heaven or anything. There's just "nothing". And I really don't believe that the soul lives on or anything. I don't believe there are such things as souls.

I think reup made a summary of my thoughts on the matter.
Its a big nothing. Thats what I think happens. Everything goes black.
There are these strange theories of reincarnation. Some say every man is reincarnated, and at the same time believe mankind started with adam and eve.

There's probably more between heaven and earth thats not been discovered, but my theories on life after death stands.
Nothing happens. Quite simple.

I REALLY don't want to get old. I worked at a nursing home, and when people reach the point where they can do nothing themselves, they use daipers, can't cut the food themselves, can't pour themselves a glass of water. I don't want to become like that. And most people in Iceland reach ca 85 years, but I don't want to. I want to die before I'm 70.

HAHA I doubt I will. I will probably die from cancer or too high colesterole or something.

Anyways, EVERYBODY in my family die from too high colesterole. It's in the genes.
But I'll ruin my body before that..

I'm half-asleep and probably shouldn't be posting anything, but here goes.

I don't believe there is such a thing as souls either. I've read on the subject, and how a 'soul' would function. You die, your soul finds a replacement shell. I have troubles with that theory. But who knows...

And why would you choose drowning? I think thats one of my least favourites. A short and painless way of going would be preferred, don't you think?

I imagine a drug of some sort, which gave you the best high in the world and later takes your heartbeat away, as you die in climax. Or death by orgasm.
