1. Mouse control is sketchy. When you click on things, it either clicks really quickly, or doesn't register at all.
Increase or decrease the CPU cycles a bit and see if that changes anything.

Next :

This is a fault of the game itself, infact also the Amiga version had this problem (much less). A solution can be the same suggested for 1) by Fifth Horseman and also increase sensitivity in .conf file of DOSBox.

Try various CPU cycles (more or less) and various sensitivity values (always more then 100). If, after that, you are unable to find an optimal setting, simply disable sound effect or music <_<

Many thanks for the suggestions, chaps, I'll give it a try.

Honestly, the trauma I've been going through trying to play this game today! I even tried a few Amiga versions on WinUAE, but the only one that would work was in German!!! :'(

I'll let you know how I get on.

I have been playing it for some time now and i have some codes you can use:
Epoch 2: XEFABXIMHTZ (bonus=50)
Epoch 3: AXFBTGLPKBN (bonus=90)
Epoch 4: VEQDFNSZPHR (bonus=110)
Epoch 5: LPNCFBNYRHJ (bonus=120)
Epoch 6: TTLBRNBKVNT (bonus=130)

The "bonus" tells you how many men i have saved throughout the other epochs. This means for example that if you use the code for epoch 6 you will start this epoch with 230 men.

I loved thig game, but never discovered that you could keep some men from one epoch to the next one!!

I gave it a go once again and was able to get these codes:

Epoch 2: QHPCXEWGIHH (170)
Epoch 3: BEHCTOHHSBP (230)
Epoch 4: OBRBPYWKEIL (285)
Epoch 5: XGFCXMNQOOV (330)
Epoch 6: QANCHAQAACV (270)
Epoch 7: TJEBVHUJXNN (240)

cheers,
Andre

Haha I love the nukes, if the computer players are too advanced in technology and no matter what you do you can´t seem to keep up, aim for the nuke, research it, build it and fire it at the most dangerous player.
Computer players tend to nuke empty squares just for the hell of it :P
