Police State!?!?

Oh my God, this is a privately owned discussion board, so the owner can do with it whatever he likes!

Sorry for shouting.

I wouldn't want to live in a police state either but I will say this to anyone comparing Abandonia to a police state:

does this mean you live here?

I have no problems with strict rules on a message board. It's like in a meeting in reality: the president has to be strict or some members will take up all available space and time with their complaining and ranting. As a born Dutchman, I know this: people will always complain. It's rather pointless.

Triton, if you're not a part of some debate team, I think it would be very wise to join one It would allow you to blow off some steam, and also teach you one important thing - to learn when to close your case Debates don't go forever, time is limited, but you don't seem to grasp this concept, and decide to rattle on even when everyone else is tired of washing out a certain topic... Actually, why not make a challenge out of it! In the future, try to disprove your "opponents" arguments with just 2 or 3 replies! That's how many you would get in a civilized debate anyhow... We'll see how that goes

Flowery prose and smilies won't cover your insults, Kosta. I was under the impression that The Picard wanted myself and others to elaborate a bit more before he fully looked into the topic at hand; then when I elaborate, I'm told that I should go join a debate team because I keep "slogging on." Are you nitpicking or just blissfully unaware?

Yeah, he's an eternal argument ender because the alleged arguer (yours truly, for the slow) logged off before he posted. Real heroic. A regular Captain Fist (don't ask; you don't want to know). And speaking of arguers, when did you decide to contradict yourself? Weren't you the one who PMed me saying how terrified you were of the Admin because you looked through the forum archives about some member who was banned before we joined? To wit: "It sounds crazy, I know, but all these admins are completely wack. They tell us things all the time, they do things that are unfair. Many people have fought back, including me, you know. And because I fought back I was mortally wounded with 60% warns in 2 days." Don't get me wrong: I don't agree with you at all on anything you blather on about, yet it amuses and intrigues me to see you so paranoid and petrified one minute and then playing forum stooge when the chips are down.

Did I say I was talking about this topic? You should read more carefully, I was talking in general. This topic is just another one in the series of your never ending debates. You always say your replies are for the sake of argument, yet you can't even grasp some basic concepts of argumentation. Fancy words and elaborate sentences badly mask the fact that you're not really trying to understand or think about what other people are saying, but rather finding ways to get on their nerves and pick a fight.

Triton:

I am sick of talking to you. I treated you as my ally. I worked with you. When you pushed me aside... I was smart enough to realize that I was alone. So I backed off on the argument. You however, just go on and on and on and on. I've had enough of your blather. You obviously have some type of compulsion syndrome.

About the pm: you have lost my trust. I see you are utterly determined to have everybody in the world hate you.

I'm off!

Ok, I think that now is the good time to stop all this nonsense. Members in conflict should argue through PM's. And please stop making silly and childish revolution-like topics and understand that you have absolutely NO power to change things you don't like in this site's administation. Any effort like this one is a waste of time, and that should put you off instantly.
