I don't remember how many hours in my life I spent playing CIV1. I enjoyed every second of it!

Ever made yourself the barbarians? The game runs funky if you do.

In order to do this, you must first make sure the barbarians have captured and kept someone's city. Second you need one of the two cheat programs I have seen that let you do this.

Why is it you always have to cheat to be the barbarians?

Is it true that the version downloadable here is a cracked (in the sense of changing gameplay) one? I end up having 30k money all the time. The screenshot at the review article seems to also reveal this behavior of the programmme.

Just change the file "original.exe" to Civ.exe.

there is an original civ.exe downloadable at

http://apolyton.net/civ1/civ1patches.shtml

it's posted as
Civ Patch (DOS) v5.0 (136k)
http://apolyton.net/civ1/files/updates/civv05.zip

should be the 'latest' civ.dos version ever and fix some bugs.

the version at abandonia is civ.exe v.1.0
(more exact: 474.01)
