There is installed Win3.1 here on Abandonia, I believe. It must be enough to run installers (but not always enough to run the games, but there you don't need it). I recommend to save "vanilla" copy, to replace your working install when needed (Win3.x too often get broken after the next installed tools set).
Ah, one quirk: for me, Daum DOSBox build was the best for Win3.1. |

But after update game become 32-bit, so no more playable under Win3.1. Play it without emulator. |

I have no idea, sorry. As I said above, I installed original under 3.1, then replaced .exe with patched one, and then simply ran it under Win10 x64.
Is it worse under Win98? Strange then. |
