Dungeon Siege is worth buying to be played with various mods and siegelets (check out http://www.siegenetwork.com/) out there. I especially recommend siegelets like Yesterhaven, Circle of Lorent, and Lands of Hyperborea.

The expansion (Dungeon Siege: Legend of Aranna) actually contains the original Dungeon Siege (so in terms of value it is more economical to buy it), but is just so-so.

I'm waiting for Dungeon Siege 2 of course, especially with modders already working on mods even before the game is released, but I'm afraid I will need to upgrade my desktop first.

I liked it..pretty scenery..and a lotta fun bashing. It is more for the people who like to do lots of bashin and enjoy scenery..not so much to people who want an immersive and more strategic RPG..

Play it with Mageworld siegelet, and it becomes way too strategic... at least way, way too strategic for me. I stopped playing only after 10 minutes, felt so herded by it. The author's earlier siegelet work, Lands of Hyperborea, however, is way much more fun, and it does put more role-playing aspect in the game such as the racial issue around dwarves, dark elves, light elves, hyperboreans, and valkeryies.

Good for you! k: I finished regular DS 3 times and DS:LoA 2 times before I even learnt about mods and siegelets. I didn't even know what mods are all about back then

I gave the link to the website on the 1st page and also mentioned a few I like. Just surf into that website, and the links to various mods and siegelets are on the right column in the in the index page.

The game is ok if you're not looking for a very ''deep'' roleplaying adventure. Fun to play, I guess.
