early balloonists had solid-steel cojones, without a doubt.
Sounds painful... [/b][/quote]
And they had to pay attention to the rust...

Could you get your hands on a copy of Around the World In Eighty Days? It was a movie, and a book by Jules Verne, and part of it had the main character, Phileas Fogg, ballooning around everywhere. Lots of old books are available for free online as ebooks.

Are you sure you're not thinking of Five Weeks in a Balloon, Wendy? In Around the World in Eighty Days, most of the travelling is actually done by ship, train, coach and elephant...

Jackie Chan in Around the World in Eighty Days? That sounds painful as well...

One episode takes place inside a balloon, I think, but definitely not all of it.

Ouch. But look at that:

I didn't mean they'd travel only by balloon. There's one scene. And I've seen the movie.

EDIT: I didn't see the word "most" in your post there. I thought you said there's no balloons at all in Around The World in 80 Days. Sorry.

The balloon scene was very memorable, though, wasn't it?

Talking of balloon-related stories, there's also a not particularly well-known sequel to Tom Sawyer in which Tom and Huck travel by balloon. You might want to try reading that one as well. I forget what it's called, but it's a nice read.
