Wink Close Combat III - The Russian Front [SOLD]

Any close combat!!!

I loved these games, realistic stratagey and manuvering, each solider had ammo that it kept track of, tanks, and solider emotions (like "holy crap im not gunna fight the nazi's i'm too scared").

All the close combats were great, they got better later on though as, in my personal opinion, CC5 was the best of all.

I do have a copy of the game i picked up some time back, it worked on win 95/98 but now on XP i cannot run it.

Please help me!

It's under copyright. Your best shot for running it under XP is using DOSbox.

You can try to run it and use the Program Compatibility Wizard in XP to run it with 98/95 settings.

I agree with you about the games, they were great. The guys wouldn't just rush a tank with a simple hand gun if you told them to. Loved it. k:

Good news (for me)! I got my copy to work. Apparentlly i wasn't the only one with a craving for this game. Someone made a patch for XP, and now it runs very well, but this game is HARD.

I've never tried steal panthers, i'll go get it now!

I didn't like CC5 because there wasn't enough tanks. It's a big blood-bath with infantry. I liked CC3, however, I didn't like the fact that your performance has absolutely no effect on future missions. Except the kind of equipment you can buy. Also I thought the campaign was too short and too easy. I used to be a big fan of Close Combat but then it just got too boring. I think the replay value is a bit low.

I should try Steel Pathers and Panzer General. They look like more challenging games.

Home of The Underdogs has CC1 and CC2.

New to the board, so hi

Just started playing CC2 as allies, insanely hard.... those guys have the worst anti-tank units. As axis, I just strolled through the campaign, but this.... those Tigers are impossible to destroy.
