Well, what do you say for 6.8GHz processor with 256MB on-board memory? Or if that's not fascinating, how about 256GB memory with the physical dimensions of: length- 10mm, width- 4mm and thickness- 4mm??

Let’s hope that price will not kill this technology!

Never mind the question about price....

Expected price is 17.5K and 18.5K. :ranting:

Laptops with 1.5TB and 3TB of memory and storage and fascinating 6.8GHz processor.

And according to them, battery should last loooong...

Mass production came to mind... LOL

Absolute garbage. It was ripped apart by OSNews and Slashdot 4 or 5 months ago.

In summary,
  • The photos of the "optical connectors" and other components are pictures of commonly available electronics components available at your local RadioShack. The "revolutionary optical connector" is actually a headphone adapter.
  • The claims of 2TB of RAM (claimed 100GB at CES 2005, which doesn't make a damn bit of difference) is absolutely absurd. 32b chips are absolutely limited to 4GB of memory and 64b chips are limited by Windows XP-64 to 128GB. There are hardware extensions which support addressing more memory on 32b processors, but the upper limit comes no where close to 2TB. AMD64 processors are capable of supporting multi-TB memory sizes, but as mentioned before: no version of Windows XP supports that.
  • The guy responsible for all this has pulled similar hoaxes before (covered in the /. discussion, also available with a quick Google).
  • There are numerous claims on the site which are complete technical garbage. For example (as noted by someone on /.): a 4-processor system is not equivalent to a 1-processor system clocked at product of the speeds of the 4 processors. That is to say, a system with 4 1.7ghz processors is not equal to a 1 6.8ghz processor system.
  • They apparently made this world-changing CPU x86-compatable or they convinced MS to port Windows to it.
  • The battery would be just as revolutionary (powers 4 pentium 4 mobiles for 3 hours) which means that they have revolutionized not only CPUs, RAM, and solid-state mass-storage; but also now batteries.
...and the list goes on. B.F.D. if CES gave them an award as this guy has invested a *ton* of money in this hoax (all the patents -- which also prove nothing -- and so-on) and he had a pretty booth. This itty-bitty startup didn't magically change reality and in doing so beat out Crucial, Intel, AMD, IBM, and all the universities in the world researching these areas.

[Edit: corrected some numbers]

I don't call it a "hoax", but just a look in the future not so far...
