hi, i just found this site, really happy about it because i didnt know anything like this was around. but, i cant download, i tried to download dosbox and world of xeen, and i got HTTP 403 (Forbidden) you are not authorized to view this page. you might not have permission to view this directory or page with the credentials you supplied. i tried using the search but found nothing, i also tried contacting Abandonia.com but have gotten no response. can anyone help? thank you.

The other issue:
What browser are you using?
Any downloadmanager installed?

Also check your internet settings. Perhaps you have something set that disables certain settings required to view such pages.

Well Abandonia is not hosting DOSBox - there's only a link to it on our site, so if there's something wrong with the DOSBox site we can't really help you...
The World of Xeen download works fine (just tried it), so there's gotta be something at your end. Do you use any download programes (for faster downloads, resuming broken links,...)? If so you should turn that off.

download managers whould work actually
if it happends again could you post the time (and timezone) when you tried it.
This way It might be possible to correlate your problems to something on the download server

Or maybe the world just doesn't like you... Just joking! Its either some network setting, an internet option setting, some download manager setting, or the server you are trying to download from (most unlikely but still probable).

Perhaps its a combination of firewall and router setting?


I would definatley check the internet options under "tools" if you are using IE.

i am using internet explorer, i have checked my settings on the tool menu and as far as i can tell everything should be ok. i am not using a download manager. i do have a firewall if anyone thinks that may be the problem, ill try disableing it just in case. thancks for the replys.

It shouldn't if its windows's firewall, but then it probably isn't.

i disabled my firewall and that allowed me to download. i now have everything working accept for the manual questions. thanx for the help.
