Take it easy, bjbrains2002. He is allowed to ask questions.
However, I am not sure about the legal matters of C64. I don't think there is anything wrong with downloading C64 games from the net... but this is NOT my area of expertise... Just wait until some other admin pops by. One with greated insight than me :bye:

Legality
(Doesn't that sound like it should be in Mortal Kombat: Law Edition?) From: Azzuron Subject: Legal illegal...What is it? Im thinking of starting a Rom/Emu site. I came to your site hoping to find what was legal and illegal. I just can't figure it out. Are all roms illegal unless you own the cart. even roms from Atari 2000? i know that home made roms are ok, and public releases are. but what about the rest. Atari will never sell again. neither will NES will it? I have seen used NES games and consoles, but not Retail. please shed some light on this for me. Also if its illegal to have the rom unless you own the cart, how can you have all these roms up for download? Thanks for your time. *sigh* This is such a sticky gray area. There's some information in the Newbie Guide, but for the most part all roms are "technically" illegal with the exception of (like you said) homemade ROMs and ROMs released to the public domain (like Vectrex ROMs). It doesn't matter if the system isn't being sold anymore, but since that system is making no one money... what's the harm? One of the reasons CG only covers discontinued systems.------- From Classicgaming /- |

I believe that the linking is allowed,
if the game linked to is abandonware, and is located on a site, that is a center of only abandonware /- |
