OK i have this old game in my head that i really want to play again.

Can´t really remember alot about it, Can´t remember if the playing style is strategy og ultima underworld style.

I just remember a few things about the beginning. You begin in a dungeon with a small party and one of them is a orange insect of some kind, Looks a lot like a praying mantis.

And one of the first tasks you have to do is fight a big beast (minotaur or sumthing) in a closed arena.

That´s it :S

hope that someone else will know it and help me out.

One other thing. It came out about the same time as Ufo: Enemy Unknown.

The mantis-part and dungeon-part makes me think it's one of the Dark Suns, but fighting a single enemy in there... a minotaur on top... makes me doubt 'bout it.

I'd go with Dark Sun too. Fits the description, especially the preying mantis hero.

Cool

Yup, Dark Sun is the one with the praying mantis creature. It's called a Tri-Kreen by the way. And that "minotaur"-thingie was probably one of that worlds bear (a heavy mutation with scales and horns, often walking on two).
Dark Sun was the first campaign setting I bought for AD&D, so forgive me if I sound like a nostalgic geek!

You can find both Dark Sun games over at Home of the Underdogs in case you're intrested.

You have Dark Sun on Sinclair ZX? :eeeeeh:
Isn't that computer a little (if not far) too weak for the game?..

Default Dark Sun 1 - Shattered Lands

Hi there,

I'm new to this site :bye: so I am not entirely sure how this requesting thing works or how I can find out if a game is abandonware or not, but I would highly recommend Dark Sun: Shattered Lands (here is a link to the entry in a German computer game museum (but you can switch language to English)).

It was published in 1993 by SSI (Strategic Simulations Inc.) and is based in the AD&D world of Dark Sun. It is a great RPG which I would love to be able to play one more time and maybe it is possible for you to put it on your site. I couldn't find it so far in the web.

I any case, I think this site is just great, I found so many games I had been looking for forever, not even knowing their names, so I am also a bit ashamed to ask for even more in my first post.

Cheers
Zarkumo
