The problem is not that the beer is unnamed, but that you are only allowed to mention beer in a beer commercial. The presence of beer in advertising has always been strictly controlled, in Canada.

At first, there was no beer on TV. Then the powers that be relented, so beer ads were an image of the label, or bottle, with a voice over. The next stage were people having fun in a room where beer bottles could be seen. As things became more risque, the people having fun were allowed to hold the beer bottle, which still had its cap on. As I do not watch commercial television, I do not know if the people in beer ads are finally allowed to actually appear to be drinking beer.

Outside of beer commercials, the presence of beer is absolutely forbidden.

No. Canada is known for it's snow and cold climate (which is only true 1/4 of the year actually), for it's natives (which is not true), our rough way of living (which is a bold lie too) and it's peacekeepers (blue helmets).

We are known for drinking it, but only americans consider our beer to be remarkable, and only because their beer is even worse than ours. Canadian beer is typically competently brewed, eminently drinkable in hot weather, but forgettable. American beer is all that, but with only 3-4.5% alcoholic content. Our beer is between 4-6.5% alcohol. Like other nations, we do have microbreweries that fill the niche markets, but we mostly drink our version of megaswill.

Canadians dissatisfied with what the megabreweries have to offer are not discouraged from brewing their own, and there is a small industry catering to these people. My father-in-law brews his own beer, starting with the grinding of the malt. He has not gone as far as roasting his own malt; although, he does wax poetic about the possibility of even growing his own barley.

Canada is known for its contributions in both World Wars, as our soldiers were effectively used as shock troops (the germans were frightened by two types of troops: highland regiments and canadians, canadian highland regiments combining the most frightening aspects of both groups). We are also known for vast tracts of wilderness. It is a trivial, but not necessarily inexpensive, undertaking to go somewhere over a hundred kilometres from the nearest habitation. We should also be known for the vastness of our natural resources.

I think everyone shoul holiday in Australia, airfares may be too high for a lot of countries but we have everything here and our dollar isn't worth much so you can feel rich!
