Well, it is normal to me if member No. 75 who joined Abandonia on 2nd April 2004 and that is Delibator, after returning to the site firstly check out what was happened with topics he started in the past.
That is not digging up corpses but the continuation of activity at the point where he stoped once.
It is maybe good time to reconsider "unwritten rule" about resurrection old topics!?

I agree with what you said. Maybe old members (older than a year) should have the possibility of ressurecting they own topics.

I agree such a reaction was uncalled for, especially if someone resurected their own topic for which he had something new to say...

I don't agree with this point of view. Let me show you why:

"need Virtual Surgeon: Open Heart". Topic started two years ago. Necro'd once before, a year after it was posted.
The message is directed specifically to Tom Henrik on the subject of something he said two years ago.
I think everybody will agree that using the PM function would be more considerate then bumping a long-dead topic just to ask that.

"Provider of Games". What Delibator did was basically repeat the very same question he asked in the thread before. Two years ago. In this case, there have been multiple threads on the very same subject since then, and he could have used the Search to find one of them.
Heck, if he checked the stickies in the Site Comments / Suggestions he'd find topic 2908, which covers this very subject (altough maybe it could use a change of name to more self-explanatory "How to upload games to Abandonia").

Neither of these posts really had anything new to say. Neither of them had to be made, either.

While checking the fate of one's old posts is everybody's right, there is no reason to resurrect these old discussions... especially after two years' time, when pretty much everyone lost any interest in continuing them.

Let's see a simple example. Here's one of my earliest threads.
Would it make any sense for me to post "Reaperman, did you get the games" now, after so long?
Nope.

As I can see in topic "Provider of games", Delibator asked politely if he is asking the right question in the right place and asked where is the right place to talk about that. And he said thanks as well.

Regarding that, I consider he should have been presented with a more polite answer.

If he started a new topic, he would have been replied to use the search function. Now when he does that (I presume), you say that there are multiple topics like that (presuming you were thinking of a little less older date). Not to mention that if he chose a topic a year younger, you would still say he is ''digging up corses''.

Oh, and asking a polite question in the old topic could be anything, but it isn't disgusting.

I do see the use of resurrecting an old topic, though it's still debatable, but only in the rare case
- when you started it yourself
- and when there is no recent topic on the same subject
- and when you have something new to say or it makes sense to continue the discussion
- and this new post is not directed to one person in particular (pm would indeed be better)

In any other case, I think it's not done to resurrect old threads.

BUT when you ask something politely, I think you deserve a polite reply.

Now I respect your hard work, Fifth_horseman, and I understand this is probably meant humorously, but some people may find this offensive and out-of-place. It wouldn't be in reply to questions like "JJEEZZ, LINK NO WORK, WHAT MEAN ESA, *dirty word* ASSHOLES, WANT DOWNLOAD NOW", or if someone was resurrecting plenty of old topics on purpose, but in this case, I think you could have said it in a less offensive way.
