Oh, this game is like a hot tempered girl : she may have some annoying habits, but is so lovable!

The game is difficult: combat results, true to figurine-powered original, are quite random and unpredictable. One time your mortar will score direct hits on enemy formations, another time it will blow up in your face hurting your units - you get the picture now...
I wish the battlefield unit sprites had twice as high resolution, they're sometimes quite unclear. But otherwise the game is richly illustrated in original Warhammer sourcebooks' fashion and another factor that weaves the complex texture is ...sound. Grim, adrenaline pumping music is often sharply interrupted with wild cries of greenskins, dying horses and charging cavalrymen. If you can, turn up the volume!

BTW: Tomekk, I love your "orkish"-themed news entry!

Awwww, Up-and-down of Emotions

I bought this game some weeks ago, but got an critical error trying to install it.

Now i was like, aaaaw, party, Abandonia got some XP-compatible version, then i got the same error trying to install yours :-(

So itsobviously my ( laptops ) fault, any Ideas?

Error says something about a general protection error in a TMP modul.

The game wont run with dosbox. It says I need windows 95 when I try to open the game from my desktop.

Is there a win95 patch for Dosbox or something?

Addicted to Warhammer 40K I'm now.. but this game looks very cool too!
But, as we all know: Hope is the first step on the road to disappointment :bleh: .

Edit: Alas.. it doesn't run on my system.. errors all over da place

You need to use that workaroud for the old installer, I've got original CD and was stuck with the same problem.

And for the 100th time:
you won't ever run Win95-native game in dosbox! ! !

Perhaps we should add detailed instructions to the end of the review? Hopefully they'll read the review, right...? Right?

Memorandum: bat file made and uploaded as a zipped extra. Instructions added to end of review. Game uploader is penitent and has been absolved for his egregious sins, and might not be sent to a penal legion.

The installer workaround does work, but it also gives me the hint that some files are missing in the download!
The complete subfolder 'ENG' of the WARFB folder just is not there, and therefore the installer can't install properly with the gamepackage you provided.
It might work with the CD, but not everyone has it.

We've got someone working on the problem. After which it'll be anyone's guess what horrible alien creature will dig its way up out of the ice and eat him. And everyone will say, "It's just like being in a badly-written combat novel!"

No, you have to use Winbox.

Or you install Win95 in DOSBox.
