Hey! I just found out audioscrobbler. It uses a plugin (for example for winamp) to send all titles of songs you play in order to create personal statistics (like favourite artists/songs etc). I just registered, and I was wondering if someone of you has an account there already.

Mine is here:

It's humbug (in my opinion and for my music).

I fail to see why keeping statistics would be "humbug".. It's nothing overly exciting or even useful, just a handy way of keeping track on what you've been listening to. It's not like it'd require any effort or active interaction.

Also, it works as a nice way to show your peers how bad your taste in music is.

It's not like that. You download a plugin (for winamp for example), everytime you use winamp your songs get registered at the audioscrobbler website, where a very inaccurate and therefore highly annoying and partly useless list of tracks is been generated (no I don't like it).

The only thing that does work right is the list of most recently played tracks and the weekly artist or something like that. I guess that's its most important feature anyway.
Oh yeah and you can have a lists with friends and\or musical neighbours and there are some forums too.
