The computer i'm using is XP professional, it loads up pretty much all the games fine, but when i tried to play Simcity 2000 and Sim Earth, it loads up fine and stuff... but it seems to be a mix of weird symbols and clean data. The top part's and i think the news headline are corrupted but the regular commands seem to be somewhat fine.
Should i use a DOSBOX for these games? Or is there something just wrong with the games in general? |

err, not what i meant. This computer tends to play with DOS games fine. No problems, the problem only occured when playing Simcity and SimEarth.
Although i guess i might as well dl dosbox, to try them out. |

I never tried DOSBox on Win98/ME. I'll try it tonight, but fastest Win98 I got is PIII 450MHz.
Tutorial will be soon up for DOSBox. It might help. |

Help!!!
I've just loaded and extracted Jack the Ripper (Dos) I get a list of all files. I click on Intro which is supposed to be the launching point. when I do, the Dos screen pops up and then vanishes. Can anyone tell me how to start the game. My system is Windows 2000 pro. If I have to make any changes to my config sys, I know how to do it but have forgotten how to access config sys. I tried Run: edit config sys and while it took me to a dos window for wintt with cursor what I was looking for was the list of comands as I read to check the EMS noem command and remove the noem. Maybe that's more information than you need! Sorry! Any help would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks |

Sounds like a case for DOSBox. Have you tried it yet?
