I found this a few years ago. I was new to the Internet, and was looking for old games to run on my old machine, so I went to a site who's name I can't remember right now. From there I got to HoTU, and then to Abandonia. Stayed here ever since I had a problem with a game and Seb helped me (I didn't expect getting helped).

I just started reading Frank Herberts Dune, and thought I'd look for the game version, and so I stumbled upon Abnadonia. An hour later I had downloaded 30 of my old time favourites...I'm almost 30 - does that make me a nerd?

I was looking for some girls in bikini and...oh...that's another story LOL
I remember I was at school, a week before holidays, I was killing the time searching something about my old amiga memories.
Dune brings me to Abandonia!

I found it tasty, but with a need of a few more herbs. Othervise I had double helpings and I'll probably still go back for more. Best lunch I ever ordered via the web.

For any other details you can read the old post, but here's a quick recap: I was looking for a game and didn't quite know the name. Tom Henrik helped me out there and I felt like contributing, before asking for favours, so I started reviewing... I guess I just forgot to stop

Reading that old thread was amusing, watching some of the now senior forumites arguing with each other over who has been here longest

I got here very simply via google and an urge to find some long lost adventure games. I think I went by HOTU first and just found it difficult and unfriendly.

Well, it involved a golden pendant with a jewel in it, an archeological dig site controlled by the Nazis, a long pole, the sun in just the right location...

...O.K. looking for Star Control 2.
