If you for some reason can't get it to work (like it happened with Prince from the same company), a friend of mine has special hardware to read these old floppies. He is very interested in this game and is ready to pay the shipping costs via Paypal or send some cash if you send the disk(s) to him. He's living in USA. Of course he will send the disk(s) back. Contact me if you get problems when trying to copy the disk(s).

Bah...
So, I finally manage to dig up my old 5.25" drive (apparently I hadnt thrown it out) and hooked it up to my computer. But I seems to be busted, doesnt read any disks I put in. Nothing happens when I put them in and closes the switch. my 3.5" drivers all works tho, so its not the cable. The drive spins up if I put in a disk and dont close the switch, but thats about it. So, Ermuli I might take you up on that offer. I have no problem sending stuff to the US and I'm ok with putting up the shipping myself for the trip there. But he'll have to pay for the shipping home again tho. |

Have you checked if the second floppy drive is connected correctly on the cable? Should be 2x connectors for the 3,5'' and 2x for the 5,25'' - kind of like two "channels" with two connectors, and you can only have one drive per "channel".
Also, check the BIOS settings. I'm not sure if the BIOS/motherboard manufacturers take into account the possibility of anyone still using a 5,25'' drive anymore. Ditto about operating system developers. You might want to try to hook that drive up to an old PC - something like a 486 or Pentium 1 - running a similarily old operating system - DOS, Windows 3.1, 95 are the best bet, perhaps 98 too. |

BWAHAHAHA...
I finally managed to get a hold of a working 5.25" and hooked it up with my old P200. The disk works perfectly and I've managed to backup the disk and I've tried the game in DosBOX and it seems to work. Just something with the sound but that could be because I had WoW running aswell. If anyone is intrested in the game, give me a shout. |
