The review mentions something called the "Star Trek cantina." The cantina, of course, was in "Star Wars." I don't have a problem with it, but I know some otherwise very nice people who do.

Thanks for this very cool looking game. I love this type of game and it was a great review. Really made me want to try it.

I downloaded it last night and tried it today using dosbox (boxer start). I tried using the setup.bat as per the instructions within the zip file, but got a message "unable to delete pic.ace". There does not appeat to be this file within the zip.

When I try to open it without using the setup - just using the css.exe file it appears to start to load and the initial screen with the games name appears, then just a black screen.

I tried using the setsound.exe and it said sound blaster was detected, but when I tried to use the css.exe file I got a message "unable to allocate memory for sound/voice directory cache."

Hmm... Anyone else having this problem or any ideas of a fix.

Thanks.

I get the same error message about the game being unable to allocate memory for the sound/voice directory cache.

I use DOSBox or VDMSound.

Anybody managed to figure this one out?

Thanks in advance... Much obliged.

As for the "Memory Cache" problem, two steps solution:

1. Run Setsound with Vdmsound and select "No Digital Audio".

2. Run Ccs.exe with Vdmsound and there you go...

By the way, the Callahan books of Spider Robinson are very nice. They can get a little repetitive, but when enjoyed bit by bit every now and then they are preciously excellent and leave a nice, warm feeling down in the cockles.
