Well... (sigh, had to download and run the useless .... in dosbox now, for the 1st time in at least 16 years. It still sucks. And the interface is totally useless! But I noticed the credit screen, at least now I have some people to mail, asking "Why?".) First of all I gave myself unlimited money, think that's either assets or reserves. Seems to start around offset $095E in a "new" savegame (ie, save it as soon as the game starts). I think I also played around with other variables, but can't remember exactly what. The savefile is pretty straightforward though, the only odd thing is that every value is saved twice for some kind reason.
And what on earth file is the savegame???

Save your progress then check what are the most recently modified files in the game directory.
Chances are the savegame will be the first in order (or close to being it)

Whichever file manager you are using, it will have an option to display detailed information about files in a given directory - including the time of last changes made to them - and an option to sort the contents of any directory by any of these criteria.
I mean, come on... even Windows Explorer can do it.

Look at the top of the directory listing. The columns are "Name" "Extension" "Size" "Date" and "attibutes". Click on the title of any column to sort the display using that column. Click again to reverse the sorting order.

Oh that's what you meant. Even my professional programmer brother got confused.

Each savegame is apparently saved in a *.ins file. Hm, now only it lefts to figure out how to handle them.

Use a hex editor if it's not a plain textfile? I think we should write a hex editor tutorial as well... Or ask your programmer brother.

Lol, I know, I went a bit stupid up there. Sorry guys.

But still in the end, it's not as simple as he made it seem. I have no information upon which to draw a potential conclusion which are which.

Write down how much money you have in that savegame.
Convert that to a hexadecimal value.
Search that in the save file.
If no results, reverse order of bytes (every two characters = byte, so 12 34 56 78 90 becomes 90 78 56 34 12).
