there's one particular explosion sound effect which i'm sure is used in half-life, but i swear i hear it all the time on adverts on the telly and all over the place, and it bugs me.

of course, i could just be going slightly insane. maybe i'm in some sort of low-budget even-more-boring Truman Show and they've only got a few effects to use...
Seriously, I hear it too! Also, so many movies use the alert noise that is drives me insane!!!!

There was a movie called 'Them' where these giant ants made a freaky sound like "Screee Screee" really high pitched. I was flipping through the channels and I heard the sound in a computer animation of a dragonfly!!!!

They were sweet! I remember you had to click on the speaker/radio to get into them, but man! Once, my brother accidentally had in the CD for normal Red Alert, and the ants started spewing lightning! My favorite part of those missions was the queen. She only took one guy to kill because of all the barrels.

I'm sorry but hands down THE MOST annoying or should I say stressful sound in ANY game EVER has to be the "ERGGHHH!" sound of your character dying in Ultima Online! There are fiuve but there is one that paritcularly annoys me!

I found the death sounds in Doom were really annoying, killing a zombie would result in some sort of deep throated man trying to spit up pleghm.

YOU N'WAH!

FETCHER!

PREPARE TO DIE, SW'IT!

YOU N'WAH!

FETCHER!

PREPARE TO DIE, SW'IT!

YOU N'WAH!

FETCHER!

PREPARE TO DIE, SW'IT!

Goddamn Morrowind.

Also, that boring background music it has that's the same everywhere. It really took some of the fun out of exploring Dwemer ruins when you hear the same little sleepy tune that plays in Seyda Neen.

Someone should rip those dark elf insults, and set them to generic techno with that horrible bgm, sped up, playing.

Every other phrase in Warcraft is annoying.

From the Peons

"yes, my Looord" :not_ok:

To the heros in Warcraft 3

"I am blind, not deaf!" :ranting:

"Plebs are needed!" Every 30 seconds in Ceasar II
"Snaaaaaaaaaaaake!!!!!" Dying in MGS
"Ughh" Lara Croft running into a wall (as she so often does)

And the sort of swishy wurling sound in FF7 (and 8 i think) when you 'accidentally' stumble across some enemies..... for like the 100000th time. :eeeeeh:

I forgot about the Final Fantasy washing machine. Lord, I hate everything about that series. May it rot! :bleh:

Anyway, how about anything to do with food in the Black Gate, and maybe Serpent Isle too?

"FEED ME AVATAR! I'M DYING OF HUNGER!"

Gaaahhhh.
