I was pretty close with the generic install instruction, here's precise ones:
Type in install. When prompted to select the drive to install the game to, you should have C: available as the only option. Click OK. The installation path should be set to C:\DW2 . If it's not, set it to that. Press Enter to confirm. Click OK after the installation completes. Highlight "Select and configure digital audio driver" and press Enter. The first highlighted option should be "Creative Labs Sound Blaster 16 or AWE32". Else highlight that one. That's the one you want, so press Enter. On the next screen, highlight "Skip auto-detection and configure sound driver manually" and press Enter. I/O Address should be given as 220 . If not, set it to that. Highlight "Continue" (down arrow) and press Enter. Highlight Done and press Enter. Alt+TAB to Windows and replace DWB.exe with the patched version as described before. Alt+TAB back to DOSBox and you can start the game by typing DW2. ALT+Enter switches between fullscreen and windowed modes. Are you experiencing the color issue after switching to fullscreen with this copy of the game and this copy of DOSBox? |

mount c c:\Discwld c: imgmount h "c:\Discwld\DW2\DW21.img" "c:\Discwld\DW2\DW22.img" -t iso dir/w/p cd DW2 dir/w/p setsound.exe >copy dwb.exe c:\dw2 |

what I did
-on the dosbox.conf write:
mount c c:\Discwld c: imgmount h "c:\Discwld\DW2\DW21.img" "c:\Discwld\DW2\DW22.img" -t iso -save as: Disc -**** next open your text editor on the same page an write:dosbox -conf Disc.conf and save as a .Bat (don't forget to click all files) -run: Disc.BAT(this opens dosbox again) -type: dir/w/p cd DW2 dir/w/p setsound.exe(confirm the setting you want) -and then open again the dosbox.conf and paste what you had to type above+ copy the patch (like you did)>copy dwb.exe c:\dw2[/quote]and save as Disc.BAT -run the Disc.BAT Again and enjoy the game with win 7 |

Hi, I had downloaded this through the ISO cellar and followed fifth horseman's instructions pretty well, however I came to a problem where after I run dw2.bat in dosbox, it says Cannot locate discworld cd. Any ideas?

Do you have CD mounted? And is it mounted on the same letter that it was during install?

Alternatively, just get the latest scummvm, it supports both discworlds now. Less trouble to run.

Dosbox was mounted to an "oldgames" folder on my C drive. That was the only autoexec commands I added. I unpacked the files by using 7zip on the DW21.rar and DW22.rar, I seperated them into two folders called CD1 and CD2 respectively. The folders were in another called "discworld2" on the C drive. I ran the UNECM.Bat files in each folder. to get the img files and typed this into Dosbox: IMGMOUNT D "C:\Discworld2\CD1\DW21.img" "C:\Discworld2\CD2\DW22.img" -t iso
D: Install The game seemed to install properly, when done it prompted me to type DW2.bat to start, I did, but then the "discworld cannot locate discworld cd" came up. |
