What do you mean with "I cant install the game on DosBox"? You cannot set the sound in the install.exe or you try to "install" the game somehow somewhere?

Yes pentagram is good. It is from the same people as exult, but is still alpha as you can see in this cvs changelog snippet:

When you emulate is in dosbox you should try the latest patch, which you can still find on ea's ftp. The patch repairs many plot bugs and finally the avatar jumps where you want him to jump. Makes ultima 8 a less jump & run.

Experiment with CTRL-F11, CTRL-F12 and CTRL-F7 and CTRL-F8. I have up to date computer and it was hell of a choppy. It works averagely now.

I downloaded Ultima 8 to play in my Win98SE PC and I am having some trouble. I am using your system disk utility to start up the PC, but when I load U8 the system freezes.

Any ideas? :help:

I can't get the damn thing to install at all. I've tried extracting the whole thing and running INSTALL.EXE under both Dos Box and VDM sound. Neither one was able to install the game. I kept getting the message "Halted: Internal Error!" no matter what I did. How do I install this damn game?
