Good old Caesar, had it on my old computer, it still is there I think... Even though I allways failed cuz I ran out of cash and/or the barbarians smashed my city. (couldn't speak any english back then and thus couldn't figure out, what did the game want me to do) But there was something about this game, that made me come back to it again and again...

Got some problems keeping my houses there. They disappear far too much. Plus, having good water distribution's a pain to take care of. Can't exactly make a good layout and having pipelines running all over the place, as you can't put those under the roads. Either I have alot to learn on this game, or I suck so badly at it.

Well, the houses shouldn't be more then 2 squares away from the road and you need a forum! Otherwise the houses will start dissapearing. A general tip, you don't need to evolve the entire city - just parts of it! The rest can use wells as water supply (those are middle class houses), in such houses the workers will live. If you only have excelent parts of the city (all high class) no one will wish to work!

I remember this game when it came out (yeah, I'm old), all that great city-managment and warfare against invading Barbarians on a single floppy disc, not bad
Interestingly enough, there was another Impressions title that you could combine with Caesar, namely "Cohort II" that let you play out the battles in Caesar in tactical fashion, at least that was the theory, it was buggy as h*ll and usually crashed when I tried to combine the two games, but still, an interesting idea k: |
