Default Help with Opening IDF File from Build Engine Game

I've recently decided to try and convert the Build-based FPS shooter NAM into a CD-less version which will fit onto Abandonia, but there's a major problem: all the data the game needs is contained within a 457MB file called NAM.IDF - and the stupid thing won't compress ! Since I figure there has to be a way to open the file - thus allowing me to remove any unnecessary files - does anyone know where I could get my hands on a NAM-compatible Build editor? I'd really appreciate it if someone could please help me!

No idea. The best I can do is offering to try reverse engineering a utility to pack and unpack files. Unless the format employs some sort of checksums or encryption (no reason it should do either, but you know developers...), this should be fairly straightforward.

OK, then! In case you didn't already know, NAM is available for download from the ISO Cellar.
