Not really, I mean, if you look at Starwars or 2001, they redefined genres.
NOTD was just a good movie that created a cult following and made zombie flicks popular.

Well, you may be right that both Star Wars and 2001 have had more of an impact on movies in general than NotLD, but I fail to see the relevance. Apart from the fact that 2001 cost $10,500,000 to make and Star Wars cost $13,000,000 as opposed to $114,000 for NotLD (according to IMDB), neither Star Wars nor 2001 can be considered zombie movies, which this topic is really about.

When it comes to zombie movies, I believe that NotLD is the most influential one made to this day.
