Default Save Game Zak McKracken

Hi,

I had the same Problems you have.
Read This:
http://www.lemonamiga.com/games/docs.php?id=1845

The chapter about Save / Load / Reastart by Key shortcuts is great.
I´m using a Mac and only have to press the ´fn´ and then F5 for Saving ect.

Have fun. Hope it fits.

Regards Modestus

hey guys, i want to ask some question regarding save/load state in dosbox.

Recently I tried to experiment on Trying to get the save work when playing game.

What I want to ask is :

I tried these two lines during my attempt to create save game directory from DOS BOX, here's the lines

I. Mount D D:\Save\

and

II. Mount C D:\Save\

from what I did I can conclude that the second line worked for me to make save game. What I want to ask is,

Is It possible to make save game while Mounting on D just like the 1st line?

Is there something wrong with the 1st line I wrote? because it seems the I couldn't save using that yet I prefer to mount my games and the saved games on D, too risky on C.

Thanks your advice are much appreciated.

Some DOS games expect the D-drive to be a CD-ROM drive, C is a hard disk drive, A and B floppy disk drives.
Also, if you have a preinstalled DOS game (like most games in Abandonia) the game might have some kind of configuration file that defines the save path/drive.

Too risky??? This just shows the path D:\Save as the C-drive in DOSBox, your real C-drive is not accessed.
Something like
mount c c:\
or
mount c c:\windows
would be risky.

In most cases with DOS games, saves are located in the game dir (except when game is mounted as A:, in that case saves can be located on C. So either you mount game dir as C (and saves came naturally here), or mount game dir as A and any voluntarily selected dir as C. It's not real C, as zirkoni noted, so no risk for your real HDD.
