Those Ultimas had a lot of dialogue...
Now you can walk up to a girl and say to her " Thou art an astonishing creature lurking from behind thy desk!"
She just might reply with "Yay!" but most likely it would be "Nay!"

I dunno, it'd be an interesting opener. could be worth a try.

But wouldn't it be restricted to a very specific situation? I mean, what are the odds of your spotting an astonishing female who happens to both recognise the quote and be disposed to react to it in a favourable way "lurking from behind her desk"?

And don't forget about the third reply option, "Eh?".

well, I guess you should look out for women wearing chainmail, leather applications and having a broadaxe bound to their back. :Titan: Don't know if you've got a chance to meet 'em in some office or classroom, however...

you could increase the odds by lugging a desk around you, although how likely they'd be to start lurking behind it is another question.

But couldn't that actually have the reverse effect? That way it would be you lurking behind the desk, so if anything you'd only increase the odds of somebody else using that chat-up line on you (if you also happen to look like an astonishing creature lurking behind it, that is).
And of course if you were lugging around a desk, it would probably be perceived as your desk rather than that of some female passer-by. This means that not only would you need to get her to lurk, you'd also have to present her with the desk first. The most difficult thing would be to make it all seem natural, of course: "Hey, see this desk? It's all yours..."
