What are your thoughts on all the games in the Castlevania universe. For the record heres all the noteworthy games I can recall. (Gameboy Original/Color not included)

Castlevania (NES/DOS)
Castlevania II: Simon's Quest (NES)
Castlevania III: Dracula's Curse (NES)
Castlevania: Symphony of the Night (PS and/or multiple)
Castlevania: Circle of the Moon (GBA)
Castlevania: Harmony of Dissonance (GBA)
Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow (GBA)
Castlevania: Lament of Innocence (PS2 and/or multiple)
Castlevania: Curse of Darkness (PS2/XBOX)

These were all off the top of my head. So I may have missed some.

Simon's Quest has been converted to PC a few years back - it's for download on HOTU.

And you've forgot the latest one, Legacy of Sorrow.

Legacy? I think it's called Dawn of Sorrow, and that ones for DS I think. If theres another Sorrow game I sure as heck don't know about it, and should.

I've played these, that you've mentioned:
Castlevania
Castlevania II: Simon's Quest
Castlevania III: Dracula's Curse

I think the old series was much better than the new ones for cruddy xbox and ps.

Right. I thought I heard it being referred to as Legacy of Sorrow.

Castlevania (NES)
Castlevania 2: Simon's Quest (NES)
Castlevania 3: Dracula's Curse (NES)
The Castlevania Adventure (GB)
Castlevania 2: Belmont's Revenge (GB)
Castlevania Legends (GB)
Super Castlevania 4 (SNES)
Dracula X: Rondo of Blood (PC Engine)
Castlevania: Bloodlines (Genesis)
Castlevania: Dracula X (SNES)
Castlevania 64 (N64)
Castlevania: Legacy of Darkness (N64)
Castlevania: Chronicles (PS)
Castlevania: Circle of the Moon (GBA)
Castlevania: Harmony of Dissonance (GBA)
Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow (GBA)
Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow (DS)
Castlevania: Lament of Innocence (PS2)
Castlevania: Curse of Darkness (PS2)

Should be a pretty complete list

I didn't like the NES games very much. Yeah, they're classic, but it's kinda boring and has a really choppy control.

I never played the GB ones, so I can't tell if their good or bad.

Super Castlevania 4 is nice, but not great. It still has rather akward controls.

Sadly never played Rondo of Blood, mainly because it's japanese.

Well, Bloodlines is a kinda strange Castlevania game, but I liked it.

Never played Dracula X, too, but I did read that it is really bad.

The N64 ones kinda are my favourite Castlevania games. They're not the best in the series, but they kinda got me into the whole Castlevania-Series.

Since I never owned a PS, I can tell nothing about Chronicles.

Circle of the Moon is one of my favourite Castlevania-Games, but I pretty much love all of the GBA ones. Aria of Sorrow was nice, but the whole soul collecting craze got a bit of a nuisance later on.

Dawn of Sorrow was nice for while, too, got it mainly because I needed a new DS game and always loved Castlevania.

Never played the PS2 ones.

I heard there was a canceled Dreamcast game too, which did go by the name Resurrection or something like that. But I don't know much about it.

Oh yeah, to me Dracula X and Super Castlevania 4 were a few of the best, whatever anyone says.

Lament of Innocence wasn't so great. It lost the classic feel. I recommend the GBA versions though. They're nice variations to the original Castlevanias... I'd put up an emu site or something... But 1.GBA is not in anyway abandonware. 2.I don't even think the forum would allow it.

I didn't enjoy Dracula X so much cause it seemed sort of rushed. But Super Castlevania 4 was excellent in all respects.

There are lots of emu sites out there if you want to go for that so just google for it. I enjoy the SNES versions of Castlevania purely because the graphics were nice and fun at the same time. I'm an oldie what can I say?

Super Castlevania IV was great cause of the graphics, music. It really was a sequel improvement. A perfect example of what a good sequel should be.
