Apart from being the favourite tool for griefers, the hacks have a nasty habit of disconnecting other users from a server. Therefore, do not use them. You can still reach high places, if you can be bothered, by building towers under your feet. It just takes a little longer. |

New server:
http://www.minecraft.net/play.jsp?se...9b5b4f9ccd1a11 My router may be damaged, so please check back as I've had to restart several times since the power cut. Perhaps use another server, like the one a few posts above, if this one is ever down. |

Well, there is nothing to say you have to use the Abandonia Minecraft server.
I did notice that, when you connected the other day, Riccso, that the other person who was on there was disconnected as you joined (that could've been a coincidence and them quitting however...). If you keep the hacks blocked, then I don't see a problem. I think that the new version of the client you can get from World of Minecraft works with version 0.30 of Minecraft (the other ones aren't compatible with this version) and has the option to turn the hacks off. You can also do it if you run the game through the Java console, rather than in your web-browser. I've no idea how to do this on PC, but you can run Terminal (unix or MacOS) on Mac - perhaps you can find out over at the Minecraft Forums..? There's only a few weeks left of this competition. We'll decide on the winners and announce them (hopefully in the magazine, if it is ready then) in the New Year. So GET CRAFTING PEOPLE!!! |

There doesn't seem to be anything wrong with the server...
except the fact that I am having to restart it occasionally since our router has been playing up again..! It's only a week old and it our 7th(!) router from BT in 2 years - they always break. They are SHITE! Make sure yr logged into minecraft and have the correct url: http://www.minecraft.net/play.jsp?server=8b37d350982f1d7669559746f0ef1981 Last edited by Saccade; 28-11-2009 at 12:28 PM. |

Competition entry
Superman:
Funny old guy: Weird blue monster: I made these, I tried to take a different route, no buildings but charicatures! It was interesting to try and make something recognizable using such big shapes. (Btw I used a skin I made myself on all the pictures exept for the superman, so that's why things look a bit different.) |
