The original version of this game was written by Synapse for the Atari 800. Synapse was one of the best 800 developers - they also wrote Atari's word processor for them, Atariwriter, which at the time (1982 or 83) was probably the best word processor available for a home computer.
The Atari 800 version of this game looks much, much better than the cruddy CGA PC version, and the gameplay is much smoother too. You can download Atari 800 emulators off the Internet, and there are sites with whole libraries of Atari 800 games. When it comes to these old games - pre-1986 or so - the Atari 800 and Commodore 64 versions are virtually always superior to the PC versions. The PC was generally an awful game system until the widespread adoption of VGA graphics and standardized soundcards. I've always thought this was just about the wittiest videogame ever made. That little 30 pixel cat has more personality than you'll find in many of today's high definition XBox or PS2 titles. I can't believe nobody has remade it. |

The one thing that i dont like about this game is that to jump you need enertia. when jumping on trash cans that gets kind of hard. great game though.

Quite funny when you hang on to the laundry lines and this cat squeaks!
One of the first games I ever played on my dads old IBM Transportable (Portable was a big word, considering the 20 kilos that it weighed) My favorites in those days were: - Loderunner (You really have to try this one!) - Digger (Oh, yeah!) - Beast - Tapper - PcMan (of course) - J-bird - Gato - many GWBasic games Xyloc |

a marvellous game for the time when it was released... both in terms of playability+addictiveness, as well as technologically
the tech aspect of the game may well be outdated, but the gameplay and the addictiveness will persist... (and this is, what abandonware is about, right?) |

This is one of the best games - if not the best - of it's time. Recommended for cat lovers!

marvellous game! i loved to play it on my old ericsson "laptop" (amber monochrome, 5.25" low density floppy drive, no harddisk, and 512kb (yes, thats right, kilobyte) of ram)
i loved it... along with digger and big top, maybe wintergames, too, this game bears some of the findest memories of gaming for me |

But that was no end, was it? You only started again in a harder level. And when there were no harder levels anymore, you repeated the last one.
