That's not a problem, is a direct effect of your computer running out of resources. When you go too high in cycle for your computer then the game will begin to slow up instead of running faster and if you keep doing it then you'll get the very same problems that you might encounter from running a game with too low cycles.

Stutering sound and jumpy mouse are both common problems associated with too low/too high cycles.
Does that mean that some games simply can't run well on DOSBox ?

Then you need a monster computer to run some games... but i guess it has something to do with Eagles previous post.

I always said that I recommend at least a computer with one gigahertz to run DOSBox fine.

...And 1,75 might sometimes not be enough.

It depends on the game.

For another emulator, MAME, they estimated that it will require 10GHz computer to run some games at full speed.

i would like it to be in english as much as possible, i cant really understand it, im just a dude trying to run quake 3 and i get this 16bit error when i run setup which is strange, i have the real quake 3 cd and that doesnt happen, its just the cd is so scratched it cant install, thats why i downloaded it.

but anyway yeah, all this weird jargon, i gave up, mounting and drive settings and all that stuff, i couldnt even get off the Z drive after i mounted my H and D drives.

As far as I remember, you don't need DOSBox to run Q3 on computer with XP.
