Hey

When you have a game which is on multiple disks how do you install it without using the actual disks, ie: you have the contents of the disks on the hard drive

cheers

Use DOSBox.

You could do that for him, too.

Copy the contents of all the disks together into one folder which name is only 8 letters long (less trouble for you) and run the program that installs the game, which is usually install.exe or setup.exe. It needs the files on the different disks, and as it will find them all there in the folder it should run without problems. If it will ask to insert the next disk into drive A: during installation you can just type in the folder where all the files are located, i.e. c:\install\

What I meant by using DOSBox is that you can mount the disks the game ask for as A: and there should be absolutly no problem for the game to find the files.

If you don't have specific disks to put as A:, copy all the game directory to another directory and mount that second version as A:. Should work if it's a real installation.
