One that surprised me...
Metal Marines - a fun strategy game that is sort of RTS, sort of turn based. You battle an opponent across various islands with missles and dropped in metal marine robots. You can build and upgrade various structures like SAM counter missles and bunkers. |

I am a bit of a JRPG *****, so try Tales of Phantasy, Star Ocean, Final Fantasy 2/4, 5, 3/6. The Zelda game is also a lot of fun and as stated above Secret of Mana 1 & 2 (2 is called Seiken Densetsu 3).

Thanks, I have 'found ' 750 snes games and am currently working my way through to see what is decent although it is a bit disapointing as many of them are fairly lousy but diddy kong and a few others have been fun.

I can't believe nobody's mentioned Terranigma yet. Great gameplay and fairly deep story (for an SNES game anyway). Soulblazer and Secret of Gaia are quite good as well.
