Cool Hunting Game, The

Hello All,
I got a pretty fun hunting game called "THE HUNTING GAME" by VALUESoft. It's older supporting Windows 95/98 but it also works on WinXP. I can't seem to find it anywhere on the current VALUESoft website or online other than this old fan site:
http://www.geocities.com/hunting_games/

If it's abandonware maybe I can upload it.

There's a buy link at Amazon (Currently unavailable)

The Hunting Game (1999)
Published & Developed by Valusoft

If you search into all products you'll see that it's no more supported.
I didn't find any reliable buy link, so it should be ok.

Great to hear.

Well problem is the exe has a CD check, perhaps some one has a NoCD patch for it? If so I can upload the patched version all zipped up.

Also, how would I go about submitting a proper review for it?

Ok here's what I've got so far. Tell me if it is like what you wanted.

Quote:
Learning how to shoot a gun may seem rather easy, until now!
You will need to learn how to shoot a gun "safely and legally" by visiting the Lodge before you can go out hunting, which is more interesting than you may think.

First, you'll begin by getting "bucks", the form of money needed in the game.
There are several ways of obtaining bucks.

You can choose to jump right into some action by visiting the Shooting Gallery where you learn to test the physics of the game by hitting gophers, ducks, snails, and other creatures. If you shoot well enough before the timer runs out, you can earn a lot of bucks. Or you can visit the Lodge and click around in the Den. In the Den you can watch movies with animated characters and listen to the virtual radio. If you listen well you can earn one buck per lecture!

After you've collected enough money your next stop might be the Sports Shop. At the shop you can buy a gun, bullets, clothes, a permit for whatever you're trying to hunt, and more. Hey, you might even want to buy a faithful dog to help you in the hunt.
The helpful clerk will explain all you need to know about the items.

After you have your needed accessories you can "Pick A Partner", by default Uncle Bill will be selected. Some partners are better than others when you are out hunting. E.g. Uncle Bill wishes to stay legal, while others might tell you to go ahead and shoot that extra game, possibly causing you to get in trouble with the law.

If you don't do everything legally you may get fined by the ranger and even end up in jail, so you better abide to the regulations, and have a few extra bucks so you don't go bankrupt.

If you stay a legal hunter, and do well, you can unlock more features including real-life recipes in the Lodge's Kitchen. So if you ever get hungry you can go out and make yourself some food.

Eat to much? Better get fit by going to the Health Spa.
Check out stuff in the Heritage Room and talk to people.
And be sure to stop by the Wildlife Museum to learn about waterfowl & animals.

I'm sure you'll find this an interesting game and learning experience.

Overall, The Hunting Game has good simulation - teaching real-life skills along with gameplay, good graphics - standard 256 colors, and a neat soundtrack.

Ready to go hunting?
[/b]

Since the game is an older Win95 game and it runs on Windows not in DOS, I cannot use DOSBox to get a good pic. And when I click PrintScrn it turns out all bad looking in about 16 colors. So not to sure how I'm going to get any good screenshots of the game.

Well done
Contact one of the updaters (Tulac, Romano, Sebatianos), they'll tell you if your review is ok or if other is needed.
