About the pearls, and stuck boulders:

If a rolling boulder gets stuck rattling in one place in a hall, you can get it going again--try to back up and walk forward and hit it, repeating a few times if necessary. The boulder should appear to blink and then start rolling on its normal track again. There's a place in the underwater maze where a boulder can get stuck and block off access to a pearl--that was the reason I had trouble finding all eight, and is probably the reason for other people as well, since all pearls are just in chests around the maze and there's no special trick to any of them. Hope that's helpful.

Is there any site with the pictures of the maps from AoD?
Some areas looks like there is smth secrets in it. But I'm not sure and want to see the comlete open maps.

Hello Forum

Is there anybody who can tell me where to find the Roaring Column of Lightning Wild spell? I saw a Let's Player putting his hand on it, yet I sadly do not remember in which episode (one out of hundreds) he found the spell. I am positive it was somewhere in the Barrier but I cannot seem to find it there.

Yes I did. It is the best site around in terms of solutions and all that. Sadly, they lack vast content regarding Anvil of Dawn. While the only walkthrough there reliably leads one through the game, it does not mention where to find spells.

Okay, I found out where to grasp the spell: You all know the guy of little size, who sells stuff for one talon of gold per item? Trade with him five times and he will simply sell the spell. It's that easy >_>

Completed the game minutes ago (custom "spellsword" character built). Score: 113444 - I wonder if this may be just "CRC"-like check, just like in Wolfenstein3D? because they ask you to send them this score?

I pretty much agree what others said here: Abandonia's review is too optimistic, while I enjoyed the game, I also clearly see its weak points. Boring combat (with only one character, what you can do?), magic that sounds great at first (variety), but the spells are expensive and not very powerful - mana regenerates slowly even with 9-point stat, limited equipment choices (Lands of Lore had more slots!), I also missed buying/selling stuff (although this eliminates "grinding" mechanism). Weird, empty world (but that's common to dungeon crawlers), dungeon wall designer should first visit Europe or at least browse an album on medieval architecture (but that's common art design flaw to most fantasy games).

I only had to resort to walkthrough twice: once I missed 1 switch & 1 ill.wall (maybe I was too tired to play); then at the finale I got tired of that maze so I checked which 2 actions I missed (the puzzle was almost done). Worked in DOSBOX like a charm.

Voice acting was hit & miss for me, with poor casting choices. Old mage & bulky warrior both sound like Prince Charming, young nimble female thief and exotic muscular amazon both sound like a sorceress in her fourties.

Default Remake of Anvil of Dawn

Hello, everyone! Yeah, Anvil of Dawn is a cool game! It contains unique characters, for instance, the alive tree which speaks to you, the water spirit with funny voice, the solitude book which needs a companion, the gold speaking sword… They all have their own little story. Skyrim has a big open world, a lot of places for sightseeing but characters there are not so different. You will not find in Skyrim neither the spirit of dead mage nor the gargoyle which keeps the path closed… Is there anyone who is interested in making a remake of Anvil of Dawn? It could be done on the Skyrim's engine using the Creation Kit. I think, it's a good thought to start from the most interesting location. What in your opinion is the best location in Anvil of Dawn?
