Well it's in Dutch - and it's not bad, but I get screen flickers. One of the better platform games I guess

Being Dutch, I got this game for free back when it was created.
Considering it was a product placement game, its actually not half bad. The concept wasn't so bad either. It tied in with the Yogho commercials of the time. Which where noted for having extremely wacky singsong rhymes. (Amongst other things about a scary guy walking through the woods eating an albatross sandwich.) It just had this brand of insanity that made it a hit at the time. (Didn't the US have that with Whassuuuuup commercials? Not sure if that was a commercial, we didn't have it here...) Anyway, they translated the crazyness pretty well into this cute little game, considering the enemies include ambulatory udders and raging grannies. Its quite playable too really. And it has its little charms. For example if you find the treasure chest you are even treated to a highly stereotypical Japanese tourist charicature emerging out of some silly background object to snap your picture. You gotta love European style completely un-PC cartooning. Don't expect greatness though. Its merely a rainy day kind of game and its short. And though quite playable, it is slightly amateuristic. But don't avoid either. Come on... You know you want to play a game where a monk throws popsicles at you. |
