Has anyone ever managed to get Shogun:TW to work in XP?
Cos I love that game and it never works anymore because I have a 8800GTX graphics card.
God-damn progress. It could at least incorporate some of the good old stuff into the new stuff without having to go through loads of hassle and, ultimately, failing. And finding Sid Meirs' Samurai game which is pretty cool too. But you can't beat a bit of Shogun Total War. Maybe I should buy an older computer... |

I got an ATI 128MB something, and Shogun runs like a dream.

You mutha!
Looks like the best solution is to downgrade... I guess the Mrs and I are going to have to not go to restaurants and stuff so often for a while so I can get another computer. I just spent a load of money on a new SATA drive (they are way overpriced) so I can get rid of the partition for different operating systems. I wonder if I can just get an older graphics card and whack it in, setting one OS to run off that card. I wonder if it'll fit into the motherboard. I don't know if it even has any PCI slots. I think it's all the new standard. God-damn progress. |

Man...
I can't get the Gold DVD version to run, but I can get the 2 disc cd-rom version to run, but my troops don't do what I tell them in battle. What a let down. At least they've started doing Cherry flavour Dunn's River Nourishment again. That was my favourite sweet flavour until they stopped doing it last year. It's good to see it return to the local corner-shop. |

Keep in mind, though, that a few years back graphic cards were made in both AGP and PCI-E versions - you should be able to find a decent 128 MB PCI-E graphics card without much problem. |

I have similar issues with Medieval Total War (Gold Edition). You cannot command troops in the battle unless you use minimap. It's a bit lame solution, but I increase minimap and fight on it. Everything else (outside battles) works just fine.
