Hi!

When I was a little kid, I've played with a game on pc, which I can't remember the title of. It was a quite strange game. It was a platform game, where you controlled a kid, who was running from black monsters (they looked like shadows) in a nightmarish world. I don't really remember how he got there, probably with a time machine, or some kind of teleport. It was a rather horror themed game. I've only played the first few levels because it was difficult. So the black monsters could catch you, and if they did, they dismembered your character by eating him. There were lakes you had to swim in for a short time, but most of the time you were just running away from the monsters.

Can you help me with a few titles or guesses?

That sounds like Heart of Darkness, Another World, or Flashback.

All those games had very similar gameplay and were stylistically similar.
