Well they did add some original touches...
But about them singing in German... so what? They're German - normally they'll sing in German. And the fact that people don't understand them - so what again? Almost no body understood the lyrics of Dragostea Din Tei but it became the world wide hit (not to mention numerous english, spanish, italian, german songs that are hits in places that don't natively speak those languages and under 1/3 of people understand the lyrics). But their music is GOOD - there's no denying that. Still they only brought in mainstream what was in the underground for a long time before. |

Laibach copied Rammstein or vice versa?

Well that beats out the originality of rammstein when they are an obvious copy of Laibach... (I mix them)

He-he and Laibach is actually a Slovenian group (but they had to emigrate from SFRJ for political reasons).

Well Laibach was most famous for their remakes of songs (Life is Life, Jesus Christ Superstar...). And they were on MTV (in their time). They're trying to make a comback, but they exshausted their ideas some 15 years ago.
They sang in Slovene, German, English and even Latin. But they prefered German - it had some Nazi colerations (and they used Nazism as an oposition to Communism, which was in power in Slovenia/Yugoslavia in that time - that's why they had to escape the country). |
