"Rakastan sinua, pikku-kulta". But I bet you'd pronounce it more or less correctly.

- Yes, we have library cars. They're basically buses full of books that depart from the town library and go around the suburbs, so people don't need to bother travelling all the way to the main library. Mighty handy, and you can give the driver a list of books you want to get from the main building. Alas, these cars are getting more and more rare these days, as they're quite expensive to upkeep.

- Yes, we love saunas, and every single house here has one. They're not something luxurious or posh for us, they're a part of the daily life. We're accustomed to them all the way from the day one of our lives, so if you want to go to a sauna, take a Finn with you to teach you how it is done properly. Highly recommended.

- Mosquitos are annoying, but I hardly ever really notice them, and in time you learn to live with them. And there aren't all that many really, only at some specific places (swamps, bogs, foresty streams, etc).

- I'm surprised the purple hair confuses people all the time. :P

Well, it's a very small picture, so all you see is hair, really. And purple is sort of a girly colour... Actually it fooled me as well at first, since the only person I know who used to have hair like that is my cousin Merle.

I remember reading a book once in which a bunch of Finns go to a sauna in a German hotel and have a huge fight with the manager about sauna rules. Very funny scene. The author was Finnish, obviously.

I imagine Finland to be full of ADOM-players and sauna-fanatics and writers of extremely weird books. And Finland has (or at least used to have) libraries on wheels that are called something like "book busses", I think.
Book busses yes.
Weird humor yes.
Sauna fanatics yes.
ADOM fans maybe.

Im not really a sauna fanatic, but im a really big fan of ADOM.

Hey, so that means my idea of Finland isn't too far off, then. Amazing. The only thing I forgot to include is bread baskets made of bark from birch trees - ah, that's another stereotype I forgot to mention: lots and lots of trees, (which is lucky, since you'll need lots of wood to heat all those saunas, obviously).
My mother once told me that in urban areas Finnish supermarkets sell birch twigs for so the urban sauna fanatics won't have to forego the fun of whipping themselves. That actually sounds weird enough to be true...

About ADOM: how come the game is so popular in Finland? I mean, its maker definitely isn't Finnish, yet the game seems to have a huge fanbase there...

Yet Another Stereotype: my former Swedish teacher (who is a Finland-Swede) always claimed that all that stuff about Finnish and Hungarian being closely related was nonsense and the languages were actually about as close as German and Russian - related, that is, but distantly related. Is that true?
