I would also suggest getting familiar with the Acrobat Distiller. It makes the job much easier and more professional if you can scan multiple pages directly into a PDF and then use the distiller to make the file conform to the specs you want.

No idea why this game was set to protected - possibly a filing mistake somewhere.

Unprotected - go and download it!

What are all these referrals to paragraphs in the game?

Those paragraphs are the "copy protection" of the game. Instead of putting all the text in the game, they refer you to the numbered paragraphs in the manual (it has a section dedicated to that). This way, they achieve both copy protection, and they save on memory and disc space requirements.

Unfortunately, the manual isn't in the extras, which is a great oversight. But a look around the net could give some amazing results!

I miss it somethimes, I used to read the manuals of games when going to sleep. Bit hartd with todays four page manuals that tell you to the basic controls but none of the story. Maybe thats just me though.

Yes, and I think it was an engine limitation, because when making games with Unlimited Adventures, you had to resort to the same system, because the text box could only store so much text, and there was a limit of text box event you could chain or use at each location, if I remember correctly (it has been a long time ago )

Of course! The old-style manuals, with the background, the story, and all the extraneous things in them to get you in the mood of the game, or just to broaden the experience... they don't do it anymore...

But we are going OT here . Back on track!

Can anyone help with getting this game to play?

I am using DOSbox and have everything mounted, changed the directory to the folder that I have the game in, but when I type in "setup.exe" it says it is illegal. I'm not sure how to get it to work. I had no trouble getting Part 1 to work.

This error message means there's no such file there. Type in dir *.exe and see what it returns.
