I am an Ultima lover... Though Ultima V is not my fav (I prefer U7, U7 Part 2 and U4), it is a really great game!!
There is a free (as in beer) remake of Ultima V, using the Dungeon Siege engine, which is called Ultima Lazarus. One can feel the huge involvement and passion from the developers in this game, one of the best RPGs I've played in years... It requires a legal copy of Dungeon Siege (Mac or Windows) to be used. |

Wasn't this game released as freeware a while back?
Shouldn't it be on Abandonia Reloaded? |

I believe that was Ultim IV, Quest of the Avatar. If someone at Reloaded is reviewing it, I'm sure it will end up there eventually.

Heh, I remember playing this a kid on my Amiga. I had absolutely no idea what was going on then, I might have to try it again to see if I can understand it now

Seems the reviewer was unaware of Voyager Dragon's MIDI patch for Ultima V that was released back in 2001. The PC version of Ultima V, despite having better graphics than the Commodore 64/128 and Apple II releases, always suffered compared to the others due to its lack of nice music. Voyager Dragon's patch makes a huge difference in enjoying the game as it was meant to be.
At the same link, patches for many of the other games in the series can be found, including the amazing 256-color enhanced graphics and music upgrade for Ultima IV: Quest of the Avatar. |

Out of curiosity, can you transfer data from Ultima IV to Ultima V?
