Powerslave was a game whitch utilized Ken Silvermans Build Engine which was first used in Duke Nukem 3D the byuld suite was easy to learn and required no programming skils and was favoured for FPS games and still is in 2000 a new inproved version was developed which utilised openGL technology and is still in use today

Fun game, appealed to both the Lovecraftian and Indiana Jones side of me. Around the time Powerslave came out I used to play the demo over and over again on my brand new Pentium 75 mhtz Let the good times roll..

This game is so god damn fun. It's like Indiana Jones, Tomb Raider, and Doom, all rolled up into one hell of game. The only thing that's bad is the lack of a good save function. ANyways, this was also a PSX game, so hopefully it'll appear on the Playstation Network soon so I can bring with me where ever I go on PSP!

Hello there everyone! I'm new here, so please be gentle.

I can't get this game to run as I want it do.
The graphics flicker no matter what "machine" I use in DOSBox.
The game is very laggy, like most Build engine games. But this is even worse I think.

Any help? I always play my DOS games with DOSBox Daum.

Try using dynamic core and a fixed amount of CPU cycles. For example, this works pretty well for me:
core=dynamic
cycles=80000

Game's running good and I'm having a blast. Can't believe how underrated this game is. Imho this is way better than Duke 3D. Hell, almost better than Blood even.

But was something left out in this rip? Like the soundtrack for example?
Because in most videos I've seen on Youtube, they all had music in them.
I understand it was left out to save on the file size, though.

Exhumed/Poweslave uses CD audio tracks for music. You'd need a full CD image that can hold both data and audio to get music in the game. The file size of a full image is too big for Abandonia.

Technically speaking, I guess someone could rip the audio tracks from the CD in some compressed audio file format, make a data only CD image and make a cue-sheet for them (data + audio). Then AB could maybe host this small size version that still has the music.
