Test Drive was my favourite racing series till Accolade decided to ____ up the series making it more like the other racing games, plus full of bugs.
How good the series is now can all be clearly seen by looking at the stack of Test Drive games (4,5...) we all have.....not.

My favourite was the first one, with II as my second choice. I didn't like the 3rd, it just didn't "do" it for me.

Luckily a few years later there was the release of Need For Speed that was in all ways but the name, the successor to the throne. True, II was crap, but, after that it got mostly better or the same good quality.
Though I do not get the fixation of more recent titles (racing and nfs in general) to have races in cities. And the lights under the cars..I mean how much bad taste can you have? Infinite supply apparently.

Anyway,
Test Drive 4/5 stars
Test Drive II 3/5
Test Drive III 2/5

I think TD2 is the best. I had TD1 installed on my first computer, and when it died (the backup battery for some reason) we got a 486DX and a friend gave me TD2: The duel.

I had TD 1 and The Duel on my Commodore 64, back in the late 80`s. Man, the load times were terrible, but it made up for that in hours of gameplay. Off Topic: I also had Shirley Muldowney`s Drag Race, and it was a great C64 game, but it was easy to blow your engine, just like TD!

Wel test drive 3 was in my opinion the best game.
I was amazeb by it's early 3d envrionment in that time.
There was so much to see overthere.
including Chickens cows, trains airplanes windmills it had it all and more.
It was realy a country drive away.
