Default Need Video Card

The video card I'm using now is an Intel(R) G33/31. I need a video card which is either ATI or NVidea comparable to that which can also run on a 300 Watt power supply. Any suggestions?

I am not big expert of cards, but I have feelings that almost any GF cards (newer than 6800 - not 680!) will be better than Intel. But I have no any idea how many watts it will eat. I am using 9800+500 watt - and it's incredibly better than my internal Intel.

On the maker's website you should find some "power requirement" or so spec. AFAIK it's not how much the card needs on its own, but what total supply must a PC have counting with other comparatively average components.

Or if you're planning on replacing the gfx card maybe replacing the power supply too is an option, depending on what you want?

Would an AMD R7 240 work for me?

Depend what you need to do with it, R7 240 for sure is better than your actual videocard.

I know nothing about exact cards, but I heard that in two last generations AMD is worse in power consumption than comparable NVidia.
