i believe i probably got this game from AOL's freeware games back in the day, probably mid to late 90's is my best guess. It was not on one of those demo Cd's. Aol used to have a list of free games you could download.

it was a top down 2d game with "grid like" movement L,R,U,D very basic graphics, i remember the graphics being bright and cartoony

I remember the story going something along the lines of waking up an an island, you meet a hermit who lives in a cave, eventually you find the cities of sparta and athens, equip epic loot, and so on..

any help with this would be appreciated.
